Posted by alumascgroup

Young apprentices in Salford and the surrounding areas have been rewarded for their hard work and commitment to personal development during the inaugural Salix Homes Apprenticeship Awards.

Alumasc was proud to be one of the sponsors of the awards, held on Friday October 18th 2013.

The Salix Homes awards recognise the talent and skills young apprentices have gained during their training and employment through the Salix Homes Path 2 Work scheme.

The Apprentice of the Year went to Marlis Hamnett (Forrest).

The award for the Apprentices’ Apprentice, presented by Stewart Taylor of Alumasc, went to Rachel Howarth, an External Wall Insulation (EWI) Apprentice with Emanuel Whittaker.  Her colleague, Matthew Casey, also an EWI apprentice, secured the Best in Trade (Wet Trade) award.

Salix Homes work with contractors to offer a wide range of apprenticeships to young people who live locally.

Like Salix, Alumasc are committed to provide apprenticeship opportunities at their St Helens head office.

Alumasc and Salix Homes work closely to upgrade housing by installing cost-effective, thermally efficient External Wall Insulation. This helps reduce annual heating bills for residents and ensures their properties are warmer in the winter and cooler during summer.
