Alumasc Takes Care of Bristol Caretaker’s Property

Posted by nicola perrins

Caretakers_beforetextBristol City Council have chosen Swistherm External Wall Insulation (EWI) from Alumasc, for the
refurbishment of the Caretaker’s house at Knowle Park Primary School.

Originally built from Solid Brick construction, the property was damp and cold, and required both aesthetic and thermal improvement. A previous refurbishment had involved the partial installation of a plastic cladding system which succeeded in fending off the weather but provided no insulation or thermal upgrade.

Alumasc Registered Installer Rateavon, installed the Swistherm EWI System with 90mm grey polystyrene insulation, finished with a modern high performance silicone render, also from Alumasc.

Caretakers_AftertextThe property now benefits from a waterproof breathable layer, resulting in a u-value of 0.28w/m2k, much improved from the original 2.14w/m2k.

Swistherm is a BBA Approved, fully warranted system with an effective lifespan of over 30 years. For details click here or call 03335 771 700.
