The Homes and Communities Agency and Sustainable Homes have published a guide to help registered providers understand the Green Deal.
The publication details how local authorities and affordable housing providers could work with the Government’s energy efficiency initiative to realise the benefits for their businesses and residents.
The Green Deal comes into effect in October, aiming to improve the energy efficiency of 14m homes by 2020.
Andrew Eagles, managing director of Sustainable Homes, said: ‘Improving the energy efficiency of our 25m homes is a significant challenge. It also provides huge opportunities for enterprising organisations to create solutions. We hope the framework we have developed and the case studies are of use to the sector.’
